Alumni Association

Presidents Message

I am honored to serve as President of the SUNY College at Old Westbury Alumni Association. Throughout my career, It quickly came to light how the education I received from my Alma mater more than prepared me for the challenges in the business world. I recall having conversations with faculty that offered knowledge and real life experience in addition to the general curriculum.  I cannot begin to tell you what a difference this made.  As I connect with Alumni, current students, staff and faculty the importance of our Association becomes very evident.  The relationships we build are an asset that is uncompromised as we navigate our careers and opportunities.  In today’s world, with the advent of technology and the influence of global markets it is imperative that we create and foster our relationships in a mutually beneficial manner.

As President of our Alumni Association I invite you to become more involved with the Association.  There are several ways you can do this.  Attend one of our events where you can network with other professionals or just reunite with classmates and faculty.  Join us during the fall for the Annual Panther Pride celebration.  Today’s students need to hear how you leveraged your experience at SUNY College at Old Westbury.  Come and speak with the Association and students about what you do, your challenges and your successes.  Come and see how the campus has changed with new buildings and programs.  Join us on campus in 2015 as our Alma mater celebrates its 50th Anniversary.  There is so much going on and we want you to be a part of it all.

The Alumni Association Board hopes to engage, connect and network with you.  We look to add value to our members by giving them the opportunities to come out, meet and greet.  We want to hear from our Alumni as to what they would like to see come out of the Association.  Remember, we are nothing without our members.  So reach out to us, participate and let us know your ideas.  We look forward to hearing from you.

Respectfully,

Lionel J. Chitty ’02 Business Administration
President
Alumni Association of SUNY Old Westbury
